Review by Jennifer Rose
Chameleon is written and directed by Marcus Mizelle. Mizelles film is based in present-day where one very handsome young man gets released from jail, he leaves Palm Springs for Los Angeles where he reconnects with a jail mate, now being back on the outside world the two don’t leave their old ways behind. The two hatch a scheme to seduce and ultimately drug and kidnap “trophy wives” of extremely wealthy men. The two set out researching who they feel are easy targets and they have the guy who is a chameleon, changing his looks and his name for each job they do.
It begins the usual way he meets the wife at a bar and asking her out gently, sometimes even when their husband is in the restroom. Most of these women fall for this handsome man, the story gets heated when…(wait, see the movie!).
I love the films cinematic scenes of the desert, the windmills, union station and the trains it truly added to the visual beauty.
The end….you’ll just have to go see this film! Congrats to Marcus Mizelle and his team of Chameleon for taking on a subject that is hard to pull off but somehow between the characters and twists in this film they do just that.
